A SIMPLE START

What to prepare

  • Castle kit, one crown per guest and extension strips.
  • Crayons and tape to fit the crowns.
  • A box or a book to start the stories.

The colors of this party

Lavender, cream and touches of yellow. Repeat these colors on the table and bunting for a simple coordinated look.

Choose a few pieces you love. You do not need to use every decoration in the kit.

Set it up in three steps

  1. Set up a crown-making table with pieces already cut out. Let each child choose their character’s colors.

  2. Reserve a comfortable space for a shared story. A cushion can mark the turn of someone who wants to speak.

  3. Use the labels to thank guests and the drawings to make a little gallery at the end.

A CELEBRATION WITH DISCOVERIES

Two games, two ways to join

Ages 2–4, with a grown-up · 5–10 min

My crown, my colors

  1. Give each child the crown from page 11 and offer two or three crayons to start.
  2. Name the colors the child chooses. There is no need to stay inside the lines.
  3. An adult joins the strips for a comfortable fit. The crown can decorate a picture if the child does not want to wear it.
Ages 5–7 · 10–15 min

The listening castle

  1. Begin: Nubi arrives at the castle feeling sad because she lost her drawing.
  2. Take turns suggesting ways to help: listen, search together or ask for help. Children can also answer by drawing.
  3. Finish with one kind action to try at the party, such as inviting someone to the table or sharing a crayon.

Suggested ages and times. Offer a quieter alternative and let each child join at their own pace.
